We are now offering an exciting opportunity to the right individual to join our experienced Management Team and take over the day to day duties overseeing the busy workshop/maintenance area of the company.

The successful applicant must have proven experience in running a commercial workshop and be able to follow the current regulations that are in place within the bus and coach industry. They will be required to liaise with the workshop foreman on a daily basis and keep the Operation Team up to date with the progress, implementation and design of a new stock/stores control system.

Within the duties allocated to the Workshop Manger they will be ensuring the service schedules are followed and the relevant service sheets are recorded and filed in accordance with the regulations set out by VOSA. As Williams Travel now runs in excess of 50 vehicles this role will involve ordering parts and maintaining the relationships with current suppliers as well as looking for new suppliers in order to enhance the implemented stock/stores system. Their role in this development will support the workshop staff and reduce the overheads of the workshop and maintenance section of the company.

On occasions the applicant will be required to assist with vehicle preparation, cleaning, covering the role of Yard Foreman and drive non PCV vehicles for various purposes. All employees of Williams travel undergo a Cornwall Council DBS disclosure check – this can be applied for through Williams Travel.

Experience as a commercial fitter would be an advantage but not essential but good organisational skills and positive team leadership experience will be essential.

Initials hours will be set at 30 hours per week  09:00am – 15:30pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break at 12:00pm. Once this role is established (possibly within the three month probationary period) the hours may increase but will continue to be a minimum of 30 paid hours per week.

Rate of pay will be dependant of previous experience and skills offered by the applicant.

If you feel you could make a positive contribution to our Management Team and have the necessary skills to support our busy workshop then please apply. We will contact potential employees within 7 days of receiving applications.
