Active Cornwall

As a company we receive many requests from smaller charities throughout the county that are volunteer based and offer wonderful opportunities to a wide cross section of our communities.

From kids football sessions to memory cafes that offer outgoings and walks to dementia clients, it is vital to all of our well-being that we stay active in both body and mind.

This has prompted us to open the door for smaller charities to benefit from a share in our long running Coach Seats for Causes campaign.

If you are part of or have benefited from a great local charity that keeps our community active then please contact us and nominate them for a donation.

Summer Brochure

Founded by Mrs Averil Jarvis MBE.almost 40 years ago, The Cinnamon Trust is the only specialist national charity for the elderly, terminally ill people and their pets. We step in to ensure that any problem encountered in the day to day care of a pet can be overcome and all the benefits of owning a pet can be preserved.

Our aims are achieved by tasking a national network of over 16,000 volunteers to provide any assistance required including walking dogs and pet fostering. We operate a national network of care homes/ sheltered housing for the elderly that will accept pets. A principle concern of the elderly and terminally ill pet owners is the long term care of beloved pets. We provide lifetime care for pets whose owners have died, either in our unique home from home sanctuaries or in long term foster homes.

Winter / Spring Brochure

A new mide wife-led birthing unit will give women the opportunity of a water birth at Royal Cornwall Hospital. Funds raised through the appeal will equip and enhance the centre to create a relaxed and homely environment which we know gives the very best chance of a positive and low intervention birth. In addition, an upgrade and refurbishment to the exiting Maternity facilities will bring them up to date aiming for quality in the standard of our facilities.

Our Neonatal department, for babies needing special care, will move to a larger area allowing our families to be more at the heart of their baby’s care. Families will be able to cuddle and bond with their baby in a more comfortable and spacious environment.

Charitiable funds will enable the purchase of equipment such as additional incubators and reclining chairs for parents to better facilitate bonding and feeding. The parent kitchen and family room will provide more family friendly facilities, with appeal funds providing kitchen equipment and toys for siblings.
