With its long beaches, traditional pier and numerous attractions this Lancashire town provides all you would expect from a seaside holiday and more. It is also an ideal base from which to enjoy the Lancashire countryside on a variety of excursions.
The two star family run Elgin Hotel is ideally situated near to the cliffs on Queens Promenade facing Blackpool sands. All rooms are tastefully decorated, and offer tea/coffee making facilities and televisions. The hotel has a lift to all floors.
Itinerary
Sunday We leave Cornwall in the morning and travel to Blackpool. We will arrive in time to settle in before dinner.
Monday After a leisurely breakfast you will have the day free to explore Blackpool. Visit the Tower, the Pier or the Winter Gardens. A glass of bubbly will be served before dinner tonight.
Tuesday Today we will have a full day excursion to the beautiful Lake District. We will enjoy the rugged countryside, peaceful lakes and have free time to enjoy the lakeside town of Bowness on Windermere or take a cruise.
Wednesday Our journey today will take us into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park seeking out some of the most stunning scenery that Yorkshire has to offer.
Thursday We will begin our day with a visit to the popular town of Southport. Often regarded as the ‘Paris of the North’, it offers an enviable Victorian Heritage which is reflected in its architecture, glass vaulted shopping arcades, town centre gardens, fountains and classical buildings. Your afternoon will be free to enjoy in Blackpool.
Friday Sadly it’s time to say goodbye to The Elgin Hotel and return to Cornwall. We will arrive home during the evening.
