Itinerary

Sunday Departing Cornwall early morning we travel north towards Yorkshire to arrive at our hotel in ample time to settle in before our evening meal.

Monday Today we will travel on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway from Pickering to Goathland, in the Esk Valley. This pretty village is known to many as Aidensfield from the TV Series Heartbeat and you will have free time to explore the “Set”, soak up the atmosphere in the Aidensfield Arms or visit “Scripps Garage” before journeying by coach to the quaint, traditional fishing town of Whitby.

Tuesday Following breakfast we will go back in time with a visit to the magnificent 18th century Castle Howard. There will be time to explore the house and its world famous collections as well as enjoying some of the acres of gardens including fountains, lakes, pavilion, mausoleum and monuments. We will return to Harrogate mid afternoon and you will have time to discover the delights of this popular spa town.

Wednesday Our day will be spent visiting the walled city of York. There is so much to do that a day will be hardly enough! Here you can walk the city walls, take a tour of the sights, take afternoon tea at the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms or visit one of the many museums. The amazing York Minster is a must for most of us.

Thursday A full day guided tour of Calendar Girls Country, a scenic drive through Wharfedales beauty spots, Grassington, Burnsall and Kettlewall before continuing into Herriot Country visiting Aysgarth Falls and Richmond.
.
