The famous Blackpool Illuminations see the seaside resort still buzzing with excitement long after other resorts have gone into winter hibernation. At 10 kilometres long and using over one million bulbs the Blackpool Illuminations are an awesome spectacle. Whilst we are away we have a full tour of The Lake District. Following dinner one evening your coach will take you on a “Tour of the lights”.
We will be returning to the family run Elgin Hotel which offers centrally heated rooms with tasteful decor, tea/coffee making facilities and televisions. A lift serves all floors and the hotel has entertainment each evening.
Itinerary
Sunday We depart Cornwall early in the morning and travel to Blackpool arriving with ample time to settle in before dinner.
Monday Today we visit Southport, often regarded as the ‘Paris of the North’, it offers an enviable Victorian Heritage which is reflected in its architecture, glass vaulted shopping arcades, town centre gardens, fountains and classical buildings.
Tuesday A morning excursion to Fleetwood Market one of the oldest in Lancashire, returning via Cleveleys one of Wyres busiest shopping areas. Your afternoon will be at leisure in Blackpool.
Wednesday A full day in the beautiful Lake District. We will enjoy time in Bowness on Windermere and the town of Kendall in the old county of Westmorland.
Thursday A free day in Blackpool to visit The Winter Gardens, dance the afternoon away in The Tower Ball Room, visit The Pleasure Beach or take in a show at the Grand Theatre.
Friday Following a good breakfast we depart Blackpool for our return journey to Cornwall arriving home mid evening.
