Torquay is better known as the English Riviera and with its twenty two miles of coastline, glorious beaches and palm trees it is easy to see why. There is an exotic and somewhat Mediterranean atmosphere in this very popular resort.
For this tour we will be staying at the Inglewood Hotel which has entertainment most evenings. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and several rooms can be accessed by lift.
Itinerary
Saturday We depart during the morning and travel to Torquay with a lunch stop on the way. We will arrive at Torquay with ample time to settle in before dinner.
Sunday A morning excursion to the lovely fishing port of Brixham with an afternoon at leisure in Torquay to relax on the sea front or maybe take a boat trip out in the bay.
Monday Following breakfast we have full day excursion along the coast. We visit Babbacombe – famous for its model village, Teignmouth – lying along a stretch of red sandstone coast and the unspoilt estuary of the river Teign and Dawlish – a small town and seaside resort on the east coast.
Tuesday Today we travel to Totnes and Dartmouth with the opportunity for a river cruise on the Dart or a steam train ride from Dartmouth to Paignton (fares not included).
Wednesday A day at leisure to relax, perhaps visit the harbour or enjoy the popular shopping centre.
Thursday The beautiful resort of Exmouth will be our first stop today, with time to enjoy a cruise on the river Exe or just relax on its pretty banks. We continue our journey via Budleigh Salterton to Sidmouth and a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary is included.
Friday After a good breakfast we make our return journey to Cornwall. We will stop en route for lunch and arrive home late in the afternoon.
