SHROPSHIRE & WELSH BORDERS

This tour is back by demand. The backcloth of Shropshire’s rich patchwork of fields, wooded valleys and picturesque rivers makes this once industrial county an ideal place to enjoy a relaxed few days. Embark on a journey through time in the country where man made iron and steel blend with some of the best scenery in Britain.

The Telford Hotel & Golf Resort is a four star hotel overlooking the green and rocky surroundings of Shropshire. Thoughtfully designed rooms offer widescreen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a superb waterside bar & restaurant and the hotel also has an indoor pool and a lift.

Itinerary

We depart Cornwall and travel to Shropshire for our four night stay at The Lions Quay Resort. We will arrive in time to settle in before dinner.

Tuesday
This morning we travel to Shrewsbury, a fine medieval market town sitting within a loop of the meandering River Severn. Following this we will make our way to the RAF museum at Cosford. This hidden gem is popular with visitors of all ages and offers many fascinating displays from Wartime history to modern day exhibits with something for everyone.

Wednesday We travel back in time today and visit the Ironbridge Gorge Museum where we enjoy admission to the Blists Hill Victorian Town. Here the costumed actors offer a fascinating insight into Victorian times. In the afternoon we visit the popular town of Bridgnorth. Set on a sandstone hill the town is split in two and you can use the unique Victorian cliff railway to travel between the two.

You will have some free time in Llangollen before boarding our narrow boat for Welsh high tea on the water.
