The Southport Flower Show is the largest independent flower show in the UK and is one of the most diverse, entertaining and authentic. For the remainder of our tour we enjoy the Lancashire countryside including tales of the fascinating Pendle Witches.
The three star Holiday Inn Preston is ideally located as a base for our excursions. The hotel offers good facilities and all rooms have television, refreshment tray and telephone. The hotel has a lift.
Itinerary
Thursday We travel from Cornwall to Preston where we settle into our hotel The Holiday Inn Preston.
Friday After a good breakfast we will enjoy a tour of the Yorkshire Dales. We begin with a visit to Skipton, the gateway to the Dales and an attractive market town sitting in The Aire Gap. Later in the day we continue our tour via Grassington.
Saturday We enjoy a whole day at The Southport Flower Show to enjoy the floral arts, show gardens, contemporary designs and bee section. The show is now in its eighty third year and inspires its thousands of visitors with unique features, exquisite furniture and plants. The many diverse and attractive displays will be sure to delight and inspire you.
Sunday Our first stop today will be The Pendle Heritage Centre. Here we will learn the true story and the fate of Britain’s most famous witch trial known as The Pendle Witches. We will then follow in their footsteps through the beautiful Ribble Valley and on to Lancaster where we include admission to Lancaster Castle where the ten convicted witches met their end.
Monday We leave Lancashire and make our way south arriving back in Cornwall in the evening
