Tenby is set in a picturesque corner of Wales that offers wonderful beaches, stunning coastal scenery and attractive villages. The Pembrokeshire coast offers a variety of landscapes that are both beautiful and dramatic.
The family run Cliffe Norton Hotel is very well situated and offers not only a warm welcome but also superb food and excellent hospitality. The Cliffe Norton also enjoys panoramic views across the bay and Tenby’s picturesque harbour. All rooms are en suite and are of a high standard with tea/coffee making facilities.
Itinerary
Saturday We depart Cornwall during the morning and travel across the Severn Bridge into Wales and arrive at our hotel in time to settle before evening dinner.
Sunday A scenic drive along the coast to St David’s. The town is the birth place of the Patron Saint of Wales and has a beautiful cathedral. Our afternoon will take us over the scenic Preseli Mountains. These wild, mysterious, rolling moors are one of the only inland areas of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Monday Today is at leisure to enjoy this beautiful resort, the narrow cobbled Victorian streets offer a variety of restaurants, shops and pubs. You may wish to take a boat trip to Caldey Island, home of the famous Caldey Island perfume and chocolate.
Tuesday A full day excursion along the coast to the beautiful Gower Peninsula. This 19 mile peninsula comprises some of Wales cleanest and most stunning beaches. We will also visit Mumbles, a Victorian resort at the end of Swansea Bay.
Wednesday Today we visit the county town of Carmarthenshire which is steeped in history. As you stroll along the towns winding streets you are following paths that were laid down around twenty centuries ago, since Carmarthen was founded as a regional capital by the Romans. For those who wish there will be an opportunity to visit the famous castle. We will return to Tenby mid afternoon.
Thursday We will enjoy a morning excursion to the nearby pretty harbour village of Saundersfoot and also the fortified town of Pembroke. Your afternoon will be at leisure to enjoy Tenby.
Friday After a good breakfast we depart Tenby for the return journey crossing the River Severn to Cornwall arriving home early evening.
