The traditional seaside resort of Torquay on the English Riviera is one of Britain’s most popular holiday destinations and has been for many years. On this tour you can enjoy the delights of the area including excursions that will remind us of a simpler life from days gone by.
We will be staying at the family run Inglewood Hotel, a firm favourite with our customers. All rooms are en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities and several rooms are accessed by a lift. The Inglewood Hotel has entertainment most evenings.
Itinerary
Monday We have a leisurely start to the day and we will make a lunch stop en-route before travelling on to Torquay arriving during the afternoon with ample time to settle before dinner.
Tuesday Today we travel to the beautiful riverside town of Dartmouth. After lunch we indulge in an altogether more dated method of travel as we step back in time and join the Dartmouth Steam Railway. Our journey takes us along the scenic costal route to Paignton where you will have free time before meeting the coach to return to the hotel.
Wednesday A free day for you to discover Torquay. As one of England’s premier resorts the town offers a wide range of entertainments and pastimes from exploring the long sandy beaches to soaking up the traditional atmosphere around the bustling town.
Thursday This morning we travel along the coast to Brixham. With its pretty harbour, lovely gardens and impressive coastline, this makes the ideal place to while away a morning. Those of you who wish to work off breakfast can take a walk along the costal path to Berry Head. In the afternoon we head back towards Torquay for a visit to Bygones, a nostalgic attraction that has something to delight everyone. Here you can stroll the life size streets and reminisce over the amusement arcade and model railway and much more. We will enjoy an included afternoon tea in the Bygones cafeteria.
Friday After a good breakfast we leave the hotel and visit the town of Totnes before making our return journey, we arrive home later in the afternoon.
