POOLE & ISLE OF PURBECK

Poole is a bustling resort in the east of Dorset and is best known for its large natural harbour and popularity as a playground for the rich. This tour has time to enjoy the popular destination from all aspects whilst also taking time to explore its neighbouring destinations and attractions of Dorset.

The three star Thistle Hotel, Poole is located in a wonderful position on the quayside overlooking the harbour. It is contemporary in style and rooms have good facilities.

Itinerary

Monday We travel from Cornwall to Dorset and arrive at our hotel during the afternoon to a warm welcome. We will take a leisurely break en route.

Tuesday After time to enjoy the lovely Old Town of Poole, we make our way via the Sandbanks ferry to the Isle of Purbeck. You will have time to enjoy lunch in the lovely seaside town of Swanage before joining the nostalgic Swanage Rail steam train to Norden.

Wednesday Our journey will take us via the town of Dorchester to the harbour town of Weymouth. Famous for its watersports and Olympic links this popular resort has a lovely Georgian seafront and safe beaches complete with regular sand sculptor.

Thursday Today begins with a morning visit to Bournemouth and time to enjoy its many attractions before returning to Poole for a 70 minute harbour cruise. This stunning natural harbour and Brownsea Island are a haven for nature and tourists alike.

Friday After breakfast we will leave Poole and visit the ancient town of Shaftesbury. Here you will have time to browse before we make our way back to Cornwall, arriving home early in the evening.
