Itinerary
Thursday We travel from Cornwall to Huntingdon and settle into our four star hotel.
Friday Our day will be spent at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, a historic airfield and museum that tells the stories of those who lived, fought and died in conflict from WW1 to 1969. Britain’s largest aviation museum tells a fascinating and emotional story incorporating exhibitions and nearly 200 aircraft, military vehicles, artillery and minor naval vessels.
Saturday Today we visit the Nene Valley Railway and step back in time as we relax and steam along in beautifully restored coaches from the heyday of the golden age of steam. We ride to Peterborough where there will be time for a coffee or to visit Railworld, an attraction featuring local railway history with locomotives, artefacts, photographs and model railways. Later we visit the beautiful riverside town of Stamford.
Sunday We have a leisurely start to the day and begin with time in the historic town of Huntingdon. Our group will be split as we visit the Cromwell Museum for a guided tour followed by free time to discover the self guided town trail. In the afternoon we visit Hitchingbrook House, where we have a historical tour of the haunted ancestral home of the Cromwell and Sandwich families.
Monday After breakfast we depart our hotel and sit back as our coach brings us back to Cornwall.
