Eastbourne is a favourite seaside destination and boasts an enchanting mix of classic Victorian architecture and modern attractions. It makes an ideal base to explore the many delights dotted along the sunny south coast.

Our hotel is the popular two star family run Haddon Hall which is very well situated within easy walking distance of the town and the seafront. It always offers efficient service, good food and well furnished rooms with lift access.

Saturday We travel from Cornwall to Eastbourne arriving early in the evening.

Sunday Our first day is at leisure to discover and enjoy Eastbourne and our lovely surroundings.

Monday A morning excursion to visit the pretty village of Alfriston and the spectacular coast along Beachy Head, the famous beauty spot. Later we visit the vibrant town of Brighton where the wide shingle beaches border an elegant town of many facets and world famous attractions including The Lanes, the Royal Pavilion and of course Brighton Pier.

Tuesday Hastings will be our first destination today. This seaside town is home to the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe. The old town is exceptionally well preserved and is home to the remains of the first castle in England to be built by Williams the Conqueror. In the afternoon we visit Batemans, the much needed weekend sanctuary of author Rudyard Kipling.

Wednesday This morning we visit Royal Tunbridge Wells, with its elegant streets and the famous ‘Pantiles’. After lunch we visit Pashley Manor Gardens, a sumptuous blend of romantic landscaping and imaginative plantings.

Thursday Our day will be free to relax and take advantage of the entertainment and attractions available in Eastbourne.

Friday The beautiful Sheffield Park Gardens will delight us today. The magnificent informal landscape garden was laid out in the 18th century by ‘Capability’ Brown and has continued to develop over the years. We include a return journey on the Bluebell Railway.

Saturday After a good breakfast we make the return journey to Cornwall.
