SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS, RAILS & DOLPHINS

New Tour

Join us to explore the mesmerising highlands of Scotland and its scenery, wildlife and history. Our journeys take in many of the iconic landscapes that the area is so well loved for and we stay at a cosy hotel that extends a Scottish welcome to visitors and villagers alike.

The three star Priory Hotel is located in the central square of the pretty riverside village of Beauly. It offers a comfortable stay and true highland hospitality. Rooms are welcoming and provide a lovely place to stay whilst exploring the area. The hotel has a lift.

Itinerary

Monday We depart Cornwall and travel to Preston where we enjoy an overnight stop in the Hallmark Preston Leyland Hotel.

Tuesday Continuing our journey north we sit back and enjoy the fabulous ever changing scenery as we climb to the Highlands. A warm welcome awaits us at the Priory Hotel where we arrive in time for dinner.

Wednesday Today we travel yet further north to the Kyle of Lochalsh, close to the Isle of Skye. Here we board the ‘Great Highland Railway’ for one of the worlds’ most scenic train rides to Dingwall. Crystal clear lochs mirror forests and mountains in an unforgettable journey.

Thursday This morning we head to Inverness and begin our day by joining the Dolphin Spirit for a cruise on the Moray Firth to hopefully see the population of bottlenose dolphins and the local populations of seals and otters. In the afternoon there will be time to enjoy the ‘Capital of the Highlands’. Later we travel back to our hotel via Loch Ness and the famous Urquart Castle.

Friday A morning coach tour to visit the beautiful Dunrobin Castle and Gardens, the most northerly of Scotland’s great houses. The house is one of Britain’s oldest continuously inhabited houses dating back to the early 1300s. It was used as a naval hospital during the First World War and has an attractive position overlooking the Moray Firth. Our afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the riverside village of Beauly.

Saturday Checking out of our hotel we travel south and tour through Scotland. We enjoy another night at the excellent Hallmark Hotel Preston Leyland.

Sunday We leave Preston and make our way back to Cornwall arriving home during the evening.
