The four star Redworth Hall Hotel is a stunning 17th century Jacobean Manor House situated in the blissful tranquillity of its own 26 acres of landscaped grounds. The hotel offers great facilities including an indoor pool, spa and steam room.  The hotel has a lift.

Itinerary

Sunday Departing in the morning we travel to the northeast and our hotel where we will enjoy a hot drink on arrival.

Monday Today we visit the famous Beamish North of England Open Air Museum. Experience life in the North East in the 1800’s and 1900’s with replica bus and tram rides along an authentic town street. Go down the mine and visit a colliery village as well as seeing the sweet shop, working farm, steam locomotives and much more.

Tuesday This morning we travel to the ancient and historic City of Durham, acclaimed as a World Heritage Site. It is dominated by the magnificent Norman Cathedral which sits majestically above the River Wear. There will be time to wander the labyrinth of little streets and alleyways or stroll by the river.

Wednesday Leaving after breakfast we begin our day with a drive to the market town of Barnard Castle where Dickens immortalised ‘Dothboys Hall’. You can take a look at Cromwell’s refuge, browse the antique shops or visit the castle itself. We then visit the iconic Bowes Museum, a majestic French-style chateau, with a superb collection and a range of exhibitions.

Thursday After breakfast, our journey takes us past the Angel of the North to the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Our day begins with a one and a half hour guided walking tour of Newcastle. The rest of our day is free to discover this city which has been shaped over the years by industry and culture.

Friday We leave County Durham and make the journey home to Cornwall.
