LAKE DISTRICT EXPLORER

The sheer rugged beauty of the Lake District has inspired poets and artists for centuries, and the area needs little introduction. As well as exploring by road we will also take to the water to ensure we delve right into the heart of Cumbria and see it at its very best.

The three star Riverside Hotel overlooks the River Kent and has a peaceful location near Kendal town. All rooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished. Excellent leisure facilities include pool, sauna and spa bath.

Itinerary

Monday We depart Cornwall in the morning and sit back and enjoy the coach ride to Kendal. We arrive at our hotel before dinner.

We then cross Ravenstonedale Common on the way to the former county town of Westmorland where we will have time for lunch and the opportunity to look around the historic town. This afternoon we ride along the shore of Ullswater, before climbing over the rugged Kirkstone Pass.

Friday This morning we venture into the North Yorkshire National Park and have a visit to Aysgarth Falls. There will be time for coffee or an early lunch before we head back to Kendal, an artistic market town with a unique history which is portrayed throughout its ancient streets and in the local museum.
