The Costa Brava is one of the most romantic, unspoilt stretches of coastline in Europe due to its many miles of coastline backed by pine clad hills and mountains. The enticing villages, pretty coastline and ‘guaranteed’ sunshine ensure its continual popularity. This year’s tour offers exceptional value.

The four star Amaika Hotel, Calella is welcoming and traditionally styled and is located just five minutes walk from the beach and the centre of Calella. All rooms have a balcony and excellent facilities. The hotel has a lift and offers nightly entertainment, lunch and free drinks*.

Sunday We leave Cornwall in the early hours and make our way to Dijon for our overnight stop at The Novotel Dijon Routes des Grands Crus.

Monday We continue our journey through France and over the border. Once in Spain we travel south along the coastal road to the resort of Calella on the Costa Brava.

Tuesday Our first day in the resort is at leisure, a chance to familiarise ourself with the hotel facilities and explore the immediate surroundings. Calella has a wonderful historic quarter, peaceful park and three kilometres of beautiful waterfront.

Wednesday A morning excursion to “Tossa De Mar”. Surrounded by medieval walls and seven machicolated towers is The Vila Vella (old quarter) which includes the remains of 14th century gothic church and the Governor’s Palace. The Shrine of Sant Grau, perched among the hills further inland is a splendid lookout point over the coast.

Thursday Today we take a trip to Girona. Wander around the attractive, narrow streets of this Catalonian town which boast a well preserved Jewish quarter and a medieval cathedral as well as a selection of lively restaurants and shopping areas.

Friday Enjoy your day in Calella. Why not make the most of the entertainment and activities on the waterfront.

Saturday Our journey today takes us to the magnificent city of Barcelona, a city considered to be a global treasure which has been awarded World Heritage Status. There will be time to explore the beautiful corners, historic places and majestic buildings that this gothic city is most famous for.

Sunday Our last day in the resort will be free to re-visit favourite spots.

Monday Today we have to leave Calella to travel back through France, making our way to our overnight hotel in Reims for dinner, bed and breakfast.

Tuesday Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we will then make our way to Calais for our return ferry crossing to Dover. We will then proceed with our journey back to Cornwall, arriving home late in the evening.
