Tenby is a picturesque corner of Wales and is probably the prettiest seaside town in Wales. Tenby offers wonderful beaches & stunning coastal scenery, making it an ideal destination for this Easter Tour.
The family run Cliffe Norton Hotel is very well situated and offers not only a warm welcome but also superb food and excellent hospitality. The Cliffe Norton also enjoys panoramic views across the bay and Tenby’s picturesque Fishing Harbour. All rooms are en suite and are of a very high standard with tea/coffee making facilities.
Itinerary
Friday Departing Cornwall early morning we travel via Exeter to Bristol across the Severn Bridge into Wales to arrive at our hotel in ample time to settle before dinner.
Saturday Today we visit the county town of Carmarthenshire which is steeped in history. As you stroll along the towns winding streets you are following paths that were laid down around twenty centuries ago, since Carmarthen was founded as a regional capital by the Romans. For those who wish there will be an opportunity to visit the famous castle.
Sunday A day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful resort, the narrow cobbled Victoria streets offer a variety of restaurants, shops & pubs. You may wish to take a boat trip to Caldey Island, home of the famous Caldey Island perfume & chocolate.
Monday A scenic drive along the coast taking in Pembroke, Haverfordwest and Solva (a pretty little village at the head of an inlet), we continue on to Britain’s smallest Cathedral City of St Andrews.
Tuesday After a good breakfast we depart our hotel and travel along the coast to the beautiful Gower Peninsula, visiting the little Victorian resort of Mumbles. Home of some lovely local shops where you will find local pottery, Love Spoons and a selection of souvenirs. We then continue our journey back to Cornwall arriving early evening.
