The North Devon town of Barnstaple is always a popular shopping spot and this lovely break offers the luxury welcome of a town centre Brend hotel along with a range of excursions to enjoy the build up to Christmas and do some last minute shopping.
Itinerary
Barnstaple & Exeter Pre Christmas Break Itinerary
Friday We depart Cornwall in the morning and travel to Barnstaple. We have a break for lunch on the way and in the afternoon we visit Affinity, the Bideford retail outlet. We arrive at our hotel in time to settle in before dinner.
Saturday Our day is free to enjoy Barnstaple and its lovely town centre. The attractive and ancient market town is home to the Green Lanes Shopping Centre and a number of independent retailers. In the afternoon we have an optional scenic tour to Ilfracombe. There will be time for a bracing stroll around the harbour and afternoon refreshments before we return to Barnstaple.
Sunday After breakfast we make our way to Exeter where we have time to enjoy the delightful Cathedral Christmas Market. This winter wonderland is set on Exeter’s iconic Cathedral Green and is festooned with fairy lights and laced with seasonal sights and smells. Later in the day we make our way back to Cornwall.
