Bridgwater Carnival Description
Join us to soak up the excitement and atmosphere of the UK’s oldest carnival. The drama and colour of this famous event are not to be missed! This massive procession, with over one hundred bright floats adorned with 22,000 lightbulbs is enhanced by music and dancing throughout the town.
Itinerary
Bridgwater Carnival Itinerary
Saturday We leave Cornwall in the morning and have a leisurely break for lunch en-route. In the afternoon we check into the Holiday Inn Taunton before making our way to Bridgwater. There will be time to eat in the town before we enjoy the procession. Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is the largest and best illuminated procession in the world, and it has been held in the town since the late 19th century. The magnificent floats and elaborate costumes offer an experience like no other. We depart Bridgwater after the procession.
Sunday After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the lovely city of Exeter for some early Christmas shopping or perhaps a visit to the Cathedral. In the afternoon we make our way home.
