Itinerary
Bridgwater Carnival Itinerary
Friday Leaving Cornwall in the morning, we enjoy a coffee stop before heading into Somerset. Here the choice is yours, visit the quirky town of Glastonbury or have time to bag a bargain at the excellent Clarks Shopping Village. Later we travel on to our hotel to settle in before dinner.
Saturday After a leisurely breakfast we join our coach and travel to the edge of Exmoor to visit the beautiful village of Dunster where we include admission to Dunster Castle and Watermill. This lavish country home boasts a working Victorian watermill and beautiful terraced garden. In the afternoon we move on to Bridgwater where there will be time to eat in the town before we enjoy the procession. Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is the largest and best illuminated procession in the world and it has been held in the town since the late 19th century. The magnificent floats and elaborate costumes offer an experience like no other. We depart Bridgwater after the procession.
Sunday After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the lovely city of Exeter for some early Christmas shopping or perhaps a visit to the lovely Cathedral. In the afternoon we make our way home.
