Itinerary
Christmas in Scotland Itinerary
Tuesday Departing Cornwall early in the morning, we make our way to Preston where we have an overnight break at the Holiday Inn.
Wednesday Leaving Preston we travel north over the border into Scotland. Our scenic route takes us up into the beautiful Highland countryside. Once settled into our hotel we enjoy a welcome drinks reception before dinner.
Thursday Christmas Eve: After a leisurely breakfast we head towards Fort William and break en route at the Spean Bridge Woollen Mill. Later we enjoy time in the highland town of Fort William which sits at the head of Loch Linnhe and at the foot of Ben Nevis. Tonight is Traditional Highland Night; a five course meal, piping in of the haggis and of course, a wee dram with Scottish entertainment. Look out for Santa and his team of Cairngorm reindeer during the course of the evening!
Friday Christmas Day: Merry Christmas! Have a good breakfast but leave a little room for lunch! Enjoy a free morning opening presents and relaxing with family and friends. Traditional Christmas Lunch is served, as well as a gift delivered from Santa. After lunch, perhaps have a stroll around the village or a brisk walk to Glen Banchor to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Alternatively, retire to the lounge to watch the King’s speech or test your brains with a board game. Dinner tonight is buffet style, followed by an evening of entertainment.
Saturday Boxing Day: We have a leisurely start and travel via Glenmore Forest Park and Cairngorm Mountain Café where there will be a short break. We then head for the capital of the Highlands – Inverness where we take our seats for an afternoon of fun and laughter at the Eden Court Theatre for the Christmas Pantomime. Afterwards we return to the hotel for dinner and our final night of music and entertainment.
Sunday We bid farewell to Scotland and begin our return journey. We head back to the Holiday Inn Preston for an overnight stay.
Monday Our journey continues after breakfast and we arrive in Cornwall during the evening.
