Christmas in Scotland Itinerary
Tuesday We depart Cornwall early in the morning and make our way to the Preston area where we have an overnight break at the Holiday Inn Preston.
Wednesday Leaving Preston we travel north over the border into Scotland. Our scenic route takes us up into beautiful Highland countryside. Once settled into the hotel we enjoy a welcome drinks reception before dinner.
Thursday – Christmas Eve: After breakfast we have an excursion to Fort William. On the way we break for morning coffee at Spean Bridge Woollen Mill. There will then be time to enjoy the highland town of Fort William which sits at the head of Loch Linnhe and at the foot of Ben Nevis. Tonight is Traditional Highland Night at the hotel. Dinner is a five course meal with piping in of the haggis and a wee dram. There will be Scottish entertainment. For those wishing to attend Midnight Mass, mulled wine and mince pies will be served on return.
Friday – Christmas Day: Merry Christmas! Have a good breakfast, but leave room for lunch. Enjoy a relaxing morning opening presents and perhaps taking a stroll. Lunch will be served and we are hoping that Santa will make an appearance. After lunch there will be board games in the lounge. Dinner tonight is buffet style, followed by an evening of entertainment.
Saturday – Boxing Day: After breakfast we have a short scenic excursion in the local area before an afternoon of fun and laughter at the Eden Court Theatre with their annual Inverness Christmas Pantomime. Afterwards we return to the hotel for dinner and our final night of music and entertainment.
Sunday We bid farewell to Scotland and begin our return journey. Once again we have an overnight stop at the Holiday Inn Preston.
Monday Our journey continues after breakfast and we arrive in Cornwall during the evening.
