Itinerary
Christmas In Scotland Itinerary
Thursday – We depart Cornwall early in the morning and make our way to the Preston area where we have an overnight break at the Holiday Inn.
Friday – Leaving Preston we travel north over the border into Scotland. Our scenic route takes us up into the beautiful Highland countryside. Once settled into the hotel we enjoy a welcome drinks reception before dinner.
Saturday – Christmas Eve: Enjoy a hearty breakfast before our excursion to the lovely highlands including visits to Dunkeld; one of the best preserved towns in Scotland and Pitlochry; home to the famous salmon ladder. Tonight is Traditional Highland Night; a five course meal, piping in of the haggis, and, of course, a wee dram, with Scottish entertainment. Look out for Santa and his team of Cairngorm reindeer during the course of the evening! For those wishing to attend Midnight Mass at the village Church of Scotland, mulled wine and hot mince pies will be served on your return.
Sunday – Christmas Day: Merry Christmas! Have a good breakfast, but leave room for lunch. Enjoy a relaxing morning opening presents with family and friends before a traditional Christmas lunch is served – six courses of complete indulgence and a gift from Santa. After lunch have a stroll around the village to enjoy the spectacular scenery or relax in the lounge. Dinner tonight is buffet style, followed by an evening of entertainment.
Monday – Boxing Day: We have a morning excursion to the beautiful Glenmore Forest Park and the Cairngorm Ski Centre, with the opportunity to ride on the funicular railway for fabulous views. This afternoon we head for the Highland Capital – Inverness. Here we take our seats for an afternoon of fun and laughter at the Eden Court Theatre for the Christmas Pantomime. Afterwards we return to the hotel for dinner and our final night of music and entertainment.
Tuesday – We bid farewell to Scotland and begin our return journey. We head back to the Holiday Inn Preston for an overnight stay.
