Costa Brava in Spring Description
The Costa Brava is one of the most romantic, unspoilt stretches of coastline in Europe. It offers the opportunity to discover a range of attractive beaches, pine clad hills and enticing villages. The ‘guaranteed’ sunshine and inclusive package of food, drink and entertainment at our main stay promises a wonderful, unforgettable Spanish getaway.
Costa Brava in Spring Itinerary
Saturday We leave Cornwall in the early hours and make our way to Dijon for our overnight stop at The Novotel Dijon Routes des Grands Crus.
Sunday Continuing our journey through France and over the border we arrive in Spain and travel south along the coastal road to the popular town of Calella on the Costa Brava.
Monday Our first day in the resort is at leisure, giving the chance to familiarise ourselves with the hotel facilities and explore our surroundings. Calella has a wonderful historic quarter, peaceful park and three kilometres of beautiful waterfront.
Tuesday A morning excursion to “Tossa De Mar”. Surrounded by medieval walls and seven machicolated towers is The Vila Vella (old quarter) which includes the remains of a 14th century gothic church and the Governor’s Palace. The Shrine of Sant Grau, perched among the hills further inland is a splendid lookout point over the coast.
Wednesday Today we take a trip to Girona. Wander around the attractive, narrow streets of this Catalonian town which boasts a well preserved Jewish quarter, Roman walled old quarter and Arab Baths.
Thursday Enjoy another day in Calella. Why not make the most of the entertainment and activities on the waterfront.
Friday Our journey today takes us to the magnificent city of Barcelona, a city considered to be a global treasure due to its art and architecture. There will be time to explore the beautiful corners, historic places and majestic buildings that this gothic city is most known for. The city is home to the fantastical Sagrada Família church and other modernist landmarks designed by Antoni Gaudí.
Saturday Today we have to leave Calella to travel back through France, making our way to our overnight hotel in Reims for an overnight break.
Sunday Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we will then make our way to Calais for our return ferry crossing to Dover. We will then proceed with our journey back to Cornwall, arriving home late in the evening.
