Crack The Code Itinerary
Thursday Departing Cornwall in the morning we travel to Huntingdon. We have a lunch break on the way and enjoy a welcome hot drink on arrival.
Friday Our destination this morning is the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Britain’s best preserved World War II airfield. Its story reflects the landmark achievements made in aviation history and it incorporates a series of museums and exhibitions. We spend the afternoon at leisure in historic Cambridge. Seated on the River Cam, this university city is brimming with culture and architecture.
Saturday Today, we enjoy Burghley House, one of the largest and grandest Elizabethan treasure houses of England. We enjoy a self-guided tour of the house and its historical collections which will bring to life the intricate history of the Cecil family. The gardens and beautiful parklands also offer plenty to enjoy. We also visit the beautiful town of Stamford.
Sunday This morning, we make our way to Bletchley Park where Alan Turing and his colleagues helped crack Germanys Enigma Code during World War II. We uncover Bletchley Park’s remarkable story by visiting the codebreaking huts and other fascinating exhibitions. The latter part of the afternoon will be spent in the market town of Bedford.
Monday Sit back and enjoy the journey back to Cornwall enjoying a leisurely break on the way.
