The elegant town of Eastbourne sits at the foot of the attractive South Downs and its lovely gardens, clear air and sparkling sea views make this town the perfect seaside escape. Our carefully selected excursions include the magnificent Pashley Manor Tulip Festival; a true celebration of spring, as the garden is transformed into a sea of colour and beauty.
Eastbourne & Pashley Tulips Itinerary
Sunday We travel to Eastbourne enjoying a lunch break enroute and arriving at our hotel early evening.
Monday Today we drive along the coast to the popular resort of Brighton allowing time to visit ‘The Lanes’, the historic quarter of Brighton, the lovely maze of narrow alleyways are lined with antique shops, boutiques and elegant arcades. In the afternoon we visit Alfriston before returning via the spectacular cliffs of Beachy Head.
Tuesday This morning we set out to see 1066 country, our tour includes a visit to the town of Hastings, with its mix of half-timbered houses, narrow streets and passageways as well as time in the ancient town of Battle, home to the Battle Tapestry in the lovely St Marys Church. We also visit the historic cinque port town of Rye.
Wednesday A free day to enjoy our lovely surroundings and discover this glorious Victorian resort.
Thursday Our day begins with a visit to the lovely town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. There will be time for morning coffee and to explore the famous pantiles before we set off to Pashley Manor for the spectacular Tulip Festival. One of the UK’s finest gardens is annually carpeted with over 48,000 tulips, creating stunning scenes for us to enjoy. The Bloms Bulb marquee is home to the company who have gained over seventy Chelsea Gold Medals, are on hand throughout the Festival to share their knowledge of these beautiful bulbs. In the winding paths of the woodland lies Bluebell Walk which is often in flower around the same time as the tulips.
Friday After breakfast we make the return journey to Cornwall.
