The lovely town of Eastbourne sits at the foot of the South Downs on the glorious East Sussex coastline. Lovely gardens, clear air and sparkling sea make this town the perfect seaside escape. We have plenty of excursions to enjoy the surrounding area and its natural beauty.
Itinerary
Exploring Eastbourne Itinerary
Monday We travel from Cornwall to Eastbourne, arriving early in the evening.
Tuesday A full day tour of 1066 country. We start in Hastings, a unique town with its twittens, caves and tales of bloody wars. Next we visit the attractive town of Battle, a market town that sits alongside the battleground and tranquil medieval abbey. Our day ends in the quaint cinque port of Rye.
Wednesday This morning we have a guided tour of the Royal Hippodrome Theatre, a fascinating discovery of the history of Eastbourne’s oldest working theatre. Our afternoon is at leisure in Eastbourne and we enjoy an early dinner before returning to the Royal Hippodrome Theatre for the performance of Strictly Showtime. This popular summer season show features musical classics, sparkling dance routines and entertaining comedy.
Thursday Today we head along the coast via the dramatic Beachy Head to the brightly coloured town of Brighton. Here there is time for lunch before a visit to the Royal Pavilion. Built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV, this historic house mixes Regency grandeur with the visual style of India and China.
Friday Our last day in Eastbourne is at leisure. Enjoy the unspoiled Victorian seafront, stroll along the pier or explore the town that offers a touch of nostalgia of the bygone days of childhood holidays.
Saturday After breakfast we make the return journey to Cornwall.
