Itinerary
Gardens of South Wales Itinerary
Monday Leaving Cornwall in the morning, we travel to Cardiff. We enjoy a leisurely lunch break and arrive at our hotel to a welcome hot drink and biscuits.
Tuesday We head along the coast and break for morning coffee in the town of Mumbles before having a tour of the spectacular Gower Peninsula. This afternoon we head to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, a fascinating blend of the modern and historic. Discover Lord Foster’s glasshouse, the British Bird of Prey Centre, a nature reserve and an inspiring range of themed gardens.
Wednesday Our day begins with a visit to the National Trusts Dyffryn Garden. This peaceful oasis offers a range of intimate garden rooms including the Pompeian garden, paved court, reflecting pool and mediterranean garden. In the afternoon we have time at leisure in the cosmopolitan city of Cardiff. This ancient city has a host of fascinating museums, attractions and glorious public gardens.
Thursday Today we visit Tredegar House, one of the architectural wonders of Wales, which sits within ninety acres of beautiful gardens and parkland. The 18th century estate has three formal gardens; the Orchard, the Cedar and the Orangery, each with their own distinctive characters. This afternoon we enjoy a relaxing 45-minute sightseeing cruise of Cardiff Bay taking in the Senedd, Norwegian Church and lots more.
Friday After breakfast we bid farewell to Wales and head to the lovely city of Wells where we have a break for lunch. Later we return to Cornwall.
