We take in the breathtaking scenery with a coastal drive and a journey through the picturesque Wicklow Mountains National Park. Excursions include the famous Powerscourt Estate and a cruise to Dublin city centre, followed by free time to explore the vibrant capital.
Itinerary
Irelands Captivating Coasts and Wicklow Itinerary
Saturday We depart Cornwall early in the morning and travel to Carmarthen where we have an overnight stay at the Celtic Royal Hotel. A welcome hot drink will be served on arrival.
Sunday After a leisurely breakfast we cross the Menai Strait to the Isle of Anglesey. There will be a short break for coffee in the captivating seaside town of Beaumaris before we head to Holyhead and catch an afternoon ferry to Dublin. We arrive at the Parkview Hotel later in the afternoon.
Monday Today we feast our eyes on Ireland’s sensational coastline as we journey from Dun Laoghaire to Greystones in County Wicklow. On this beautiful drive we follow dramatic seascapes, passing through picturesque coastal villages including Dalkey and Killiney. Our day includes time in the lovely coastal town of Bray.
Tuesday We begin our day with a journey through the stunning Wicklow Mountains National Park via the spectacular valley of Glendalough. This afternoon we head to Powerscourt House & Gardens where there will be time to explore the beautifully landscaped gardens and experience the grandeur of the magnificent mansion.
Wednesday Our day begins with a one hour cruise from beautiful Dun Laoghaire Harbour to Dublin city centre, gaining a unique perspective of the city and admiring Dalkey Island, the docklands and Poolbeg Lighthouse. On arrival we enjoy time at leisure in this very walkable city which is famous for being a literary treasure, a historic powerhouse and a very friendly place to visit.
Thursday An early start today and breakfast will be a takeaway bag as we board the morning ferry from Dublin to Holyhead. On arrival in Wales we begin our journey back to Cornwall and arrive home later in the evening.
