Itinerary
Isle of Wight Itinerary
Sunday We travel from Cornwall to Hampshire and board the ferry for the Isle of Wight. Upon arrival we make our way to Ryde and our hotel.
Monday A journey ‘around the island’ today. Our day includes a visit to Alum Bay and the magnificent chalk stacks of ‘The Needles’, watched over by the world famous coloured sand cliffs. We also include a visit to the peaceful Quarr Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery.
Tuesday This morning we visit Godshill, a quintessential English village with charming thatched-roofed cottages, medieval church and its own model village. Later we visit the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. As well as meeting the friendly resident donkeys and ponies, we enjoy a cream tea in the restaurant.
Wednesday Today is free to explore the Victorian town of Ryde. The town has many attractions and delights of its own but also has excellent transport links for those of us who wish to venture further afield.
Thursday We follow in the footsteps of royalty with a visit to Osborne House, the palatial holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. This beautiful spot offers an intimate glimpse of royal family life. We also include a visit to the beautiful church at Whippingham.
Friday After a good breakfast we depart our hotel for the short drive to the ferry and then return to Cornwall arriving home early evening.
