This great new tour based in County Cork allows us to explore the highlights of both Cork and Kerry. Kinsale & Killarney Itinerary
Sunday We depart Cornwall early in the morning and travel to Pembroke where we catch our ferry to Rosslare. Once on Irish turf we make our way to our overnight hotel, Treacy’s Hotel in Waterford.
Monday This morning we have time to explore Waterford, Irelands oldest city and a treasure trove of history and local craft. As we follow in the footsteps of Vikings we can discover the great attractions of the city both old and new. After an early lunch we make our way to Cork and settle into our hotel, the Oriel House.
Tuesday We begin our day at the legendary Blarney Castle. Over 600 years old the castle is said to have powers if you kiss the stone. The grounds of the castle are incredibly beautiful and include bewitching themed gardens, herbaceous borders and woodland walks. From here, we make our way to the picturesque and popular town of Kinsale, known as the gourmet capital of Ireland. We have free time for lunch before we enjoy a 1 hour guided walking tour of the historic port and town.
Wednesday Our morning begins with a tour of the Killarney Brewing Company, where we see the process of ale making before sampling the hand crafted beers. Later we board a jaunting car for a ride through the beautiful Killarney National Park to Ross Castle. We spend the rest of the day at leisure in beautiful Killarney town.
Thursday This morning we travel along parts of the scenic route of the Wild Atlantic Way to Bantry. We visit the three hundred year old Bantry House and Garden. We explore the house and stunning formal gardens at our leisure before enjoying free time for a spot of lunch. The rest of our day will be whiled away exploring the stunning bay of Bantry, with its semi-tropical flowers, palm trees, high mountain ridges and cascading mountain streams leading to an azure blue sea.
Friday We leave Cork after breakfast and head to the harbour town of Cobh where we include a visit to the Titanic Experience. Housed in the original White Star Line Ticket Office we will begin the journey that the passengers took when boarding the fateful ship. There will be time for lunch in Cobh before travelling on to our overnight hotel, the Maldron Hotel Wexford.
Saturday Following an early breakfast we leave our hotel and travel the short distance to the ferry port where we make the Rosslare to Fishguard crossing. We then continue our journey to Cornwall arriving home later in the evening.
