With Christmas approaching, the compact city of Lille is bedecked with light and colour. Around the Christmas market, the whole area is covered in a huge crown of garlands. We stay in the heart of the city to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and also enjoy a visit to the beautiful city of Ghent for the Nordic Christmas delight.

Lille & Ghent Christmas Markets Itinerary
Friday We depart Cornwall early in the morning and travel to Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais before continuing on to our hotel in Lille. Your evening is then free to dine at your choice of nearby restaurants.
Saturday Today is free to wrap up warm and wander the brightly adorned streets of Lille. The attractive Christmas market is based in Place Rihour and the festive stalls offer unique gifts, regional delicacies and a lovely Christmas ambience. Take a ride on the giant Ferris Wheel for a bird’s eye view of Lille’s giant Christmas tree, visit the artificial snow village or admire the colourful Flemish facades of the 17th century merchants’ houses and beautifully decorated stores.
Sunday This morning our coach takes us to Ghent, a Christmas city at its best! The Gentse Winterfeesten is an authentic Christmas market with a Nordic atmosphere. The Scandinavian Christmas Village is alive with twinkling lights, mulled wine and a warming festive atmosphere. Late in the afternoon we return to Lille.
Monday After breakfast we depart Lille and make our way back to the ferry port at Calais. Once in England we travel home to Cornwall.
