Join us for a spring entertainment break in the glorious county of Lincolnshire. The tempting range of excursions include the magnificent city of Lincoln and the wonderful Barnsdale Gardens, famously created by Geoff Hamilton for BBCs Gardeners World.
Itinerary
Lincolnshire Spring Special Itinerary
Monday Leaving Cornwall in the morning, we travel to Lincolnshire. On arrival at the Olde Barn we enjoy a hot drink before settling in. After dinner we enjoy the first of our four nights of entertainment.
Tuesday This morning we make our way to the beautiful town of Stamford, one of the finest stone towns in England. After time for a stroll and morning coffee we continue to Barnsdale Gardens. Voted Britain’s number one garden, this is the largest collection of individually designed gardens and offers beauty, inspiration and enjoyment to all.
Wednesday After breakfast, we head to the beautiful Rutland Water for a relaxing cruise with an interesting commentary. The lake is one of the largest man made waters in Europe and is home to an abundance of wildlife including osprey. Later we visit the old town of Melton Mowbray, famous for its pork pies and known as the ‘rural capital of food’.
Thursday Today we drive to the historic City of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral and Norman Castle. The cobbled and quaint streets of the Cathedral Quarter offer a unique experience of culture, cuisine and art. On arrival we have a guided coach tour of the city before we visit Lincoln Cathedral for a guided tour of this gothic style place of worship.
Friday We sadly leave our hotel and make the journey back to Cornwall arriving home during the evening.
