Norfolk is a county of many facets which delights visitors time and again. On this new tour we explore some unique attractions and discover the amazing natural beauty of the wonderful east coast.
Norfolk – Seals, Coast & City Itinerary
Sunday We depart from Cornwall in the morning and travel to Norfolk. Tea and biscuits will be served on arrival at our hotel.
Monday Today we visit Thursford, to see the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs. Hear the mighty Wurlitzer and take a ride on fairground carousels and the gondola, enjoy “Back Stage Tours” and watch silent movies. There will also be time to browse the wares in their small shopping village. Later in the day we visit Redwings Horse Sanctuary, set in the Norfolk countryside the shelter is home to over fifty rescued residents and offers pleasant nature walks.
Tuesday We begin with a drive through rural Norfolk and break for morning coffee in Holt and then continue onto the coastal village of Blakeney, famous for its nature reserve. Here we have a one hour cruise to Blakeney Point to see the year round extensive seal colonies. An insightful commentary is provided. Later we take in some of the pretty towns and villages of North Norfolk including Wells-next-the-Sea and Little Walsingham.
Wednesday Our day begins with a visit to the seaside and we have time for morning coffee in Great Yarmouth. Later we venture into the attractive broads area and have a break for lunch in the lovely town of Wroxham. In the afternoon we travel to Horning for a ride on the Mississippi Paddle Steamer ‘Southern Comfort’ to sail around the Norfolk Broads.
Thursday Today will be free to enjoy the magnificent city of Norwich. This is the most complete medieval city in the UK and is home to a wealth of pretty cobbled streets, architectural delights and riverside walks.
Friday After breakfast we make our way back to Cornwall arriving home during the evening.
