Llandudno is a popular holiday destination set in a beautiful bay nestling between the headlands of the ‘Great and Little Ormes’. It has a traditional and welcoming ambience and offer the opportunity for us to explore the magnificence of Snowdonia and the rugged beauty of North Wales.
North Wales & Llandudno Itinerary
Saturday We make an early departure from Cornwall and travel to North Wales. We arrive at the St Kilda Hotel to a warm welcome.
Sunday This morning we make our way to the Royal town of Caernarfon where the mighty castle commands the lion’s share of attention. After time to look around the scenic waterside town we cross the Menai Strait to the lovely Isle of Anglesey, known for its beautiful beaches and ancient sites.
Monday Today will be at leisure to enjoy Llandudno, maybe take a ride on the tram up the Great Orme for spectacular views across the bay.
Tuesday A leisurely drive through the dramatic Snowdonia National Park visiting Betws-y-Coed and the Pass of Llanberis. This wonderful area boasts vast vistas of natural beauty and unique scenery. During the day we take a trip to the summit of Snowdon, this spectacular train ride is the journey of a lifetime to the rooftop of Wales.
Wednesday Our day begins with an attraction with a difference. Ruthin Gaol is one of North Wales’ most fascinating buildings and from 1654 to 1916 thousands of prisoners passed through its gates. We see what life was really like in a Victorian prison. Later we visit Llangollen where there will be time to enjoy the town and lovely riverbank.
Thursday We travel to the beautiful city of Chester where we have free time in the old city to visit the 900 year old Cathedral or the famous ‘rows’. During our time in the city we will include a visit to the Chester Cathedral Gardens and Falconry Centre where we can explore this informative center and beautiful nature gardens, visit the birds of prey and reptiles and watch the magnificent outdoor flying displays.
Friday We have our final day at leisure to enjoy Llandudno.
Saturday After breakfast we will say goodbye to the St Kilda staff and make our way back to Cornwall.
