Join us as we delight in another stay at the lovely Queens Hotel. Our days out take us on a journey of discovery exploring the beautiful South Devon coastline and some of its most popular attractions.
Itinerary
Paignton – The English Riviera Itinerary
Monday Leaving Cornwall in the morning we travel to Plymouth where we enjoy a leisurely lunch break in the waterside Barbican area. In the afternoon we travel on to Paignton and settle into our hotel.
Tuesday Today we visit Paignton Zoo Environmental Park which is home to over two thousand animals and countless amazing plants across eighty acres of beautiful, spacious grounds. The conservation charity is home to lions, tigers, giraffes, crocodiles, rhinos, lemurs, flamingos, meerkats, orangutans and so much more. The latter part of our afternoon will be free to enjoy Paignton.
Wednesday This morning we make the short journey to Torquay. The town is known as the ‘jewel of the English Riviera’ due to its iconic palm trees, busy harbour, international marina and sandy beach. Our afternoon is free to explore the colourful town of Paignton with its lively seafront and bustling pier. Visit the peaceful and often overlooked harbour or board the South Devon Railway for a gentle ride to Kingswear and Dartmouth.
Thursday This morning our coach takes us along the coast to Brixham, a quaint town and one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK. Later we visit the National Trusts Coleton Fishacre. This most evocative of country homes was built in the arts and crafts style and was the country home of the D’Oyly Carte family.
Friday This morning we leave Paignton and travel to the riverside town of Dartmouth. Situated at the mouth of the River Dart this is one of Devon’s most enchanting towns. In the afternoon we return home.
