Secrets of the Cotswolds Itinerary
Sunday We depart from Cornwall in the morning and enjoy a lunch break on the way to our hotel at Blunsdon. We enjoy tea and biscuits on arrival.
Monday Our day begins with a private tour of the lovely, timeless Garden at Miserden. Boasting spectacular views over a deer park and rolling Cotswold hills beyond, it was designed in the 17th Century and still retains a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility. In the afternoon we take a peaceful cruise on the Kennet and Avon Horse Boat Experience. We will be gently guided along the canal for two hours with only the clip clop of the shires.
Tuesday This morning we visit the UK’s greatest palace, Blenheim. What is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site was the birthplace of Winston Churchill and is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture providing an awe-inspiring experience for visitors. Our day will be free to enjoy its full delights.
Wednesday Sitting back to enjoy the scenery, we travel through the glorious Cotswolds to Broughton Castle. It is a handsome fort and moated manor house and is grand and impressive in all senses of the word. The castle secrets are brought to life with a private tour before we enjoy a light lunch. In the afternoon we make a stop in the lovely village of Bourton-on-the-Water.
Thursday After leaving the hotel we travel to the nearby GWR site at Swindon. Here you can visit STEAM, the museum of the Great Western Railway, or the McArthur Glen designer outlet. After an early lunch we travel home to Cornwall.
