The sheer beauty of the Lake District has inspired poets and artists for centuries and on this holiday we will paint a picture that will last in your memory for years to come. We use train, boat, and minibus to embark on exciting journeys to see the most spectacular parts of this glorious national park.

Steaming & Sailing in the Lakes Itinerary
Monday We leave Cornwall in the morning and travel to our hotel, arriving in time for dinner.
Tuesday This morning we join the comfortable services of Mountain Goat. A fleet of mini coaches will take us on a journey of discovery to places our coach simply cannot reach. Our day will include a stop at Wray Castle and the 17th century farmhouse where Beatrix Potter wrote some of her books. We visit Tarn Hows and Coniston Water where we enjoy a cruise on board the opulent Gondola. We then return to Ambleside through the Yewdale Valley and rejoin our own coach.
Wednesday Our day begins in Bowness-on-Windermere where there is time to enjoy the lakeside and its lovely town. This afternoon we enjoy a delightful sail along Lake Windermere to Lakeside; the southern end of the lake. Here we join the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway for a nostalgic steam train ride to Haverthwaite.
Thursday More fantastic scenery today as we make our way to Ullswater and Pooley Bridge. Here we sail on board the lake ‘steamer’ to Glenridding. We continue to Keswick where there is time for lunch before a picturesque ride via Bassenthwaite Lake to Caldbeck and through pleasant Cumbrian countryside.
Friday After a lovely breakfast we make our way back to Cornwall arriving home during the evening.
