Enjoy a tour to delight in the beautiful county of Dorset and its breathtaking Jurassic Coast. Based in the traditional harbour town of Weymouth, we have varied excursions including the peaceful Swanage Railway and the excellent Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre.
Itinerary
Weymouth & Dorset Delights Itinerary
Monday We leave Cornwall in the morning and travel to Dorset enjoying a break in the lovely town of Sidmouth on the way. We arrive in time to enjoy dinner at the Crown Hotel.
Tuesday This morning we enjoy a brief visit to Dorchester for morning coffee before we head for the Isle of Purbeck. Our afternoon includes time in the coastal town of Swanage and a ride on board the heritage Swanage Railway.
Wednesday This morning we visit Monkey World. The centre was started by the late Jim Cronin and his wife Dr Alison Cronin who now runs the hugely successful primate world. You have time to view the monkeys that have suffered abuse or neglect and rehabilitated into natural living groups. We return to Weymouth in the afternoon.
Thursday Today is free to enjoy Weymouth and our surroundings. This delightful and vibrant town has a unique history and at its heart sits the traditional Old Harbour which always offers plenty to see and do at any time of the year.
Friday After breakfast we leave Weymouth. We stop for morning coffee at the lovely Donkey Sanctuary and then make our way to Exeter where there is time for lunch in the city centre. Leaving here in the afternoon we arrive home early in the evening.
