Itinerary

Friday We travel from Cornwall to South Devon and have a break for lunch at Buckfast Abbey. We then join the South Devon Railway, the longest established steam railway in the south west and travel to Totnes. We arrive at our hotel during the afternoon to a welcome hot drink.

Saturday After breakfast we make our way to Paignton Station where we board the Dartmouth Steam Railway. This seven mile heritage railway on the former Great Western Railway branch line runs between Paignton and Kingswear and affords some of the most spectacular coastal views of any train line. On arrival in Kingswear we have a short boat trip to Dartmouth where there will be time for lunch and to enjoy the riverside town. Our coach will meet us here to take us back to Paignton.

Sunday This morning we travel to Bishops Lydeard where we board the West Somerset Railway, the longest heritage railway in Britain. This route boasts twenty miles of genteel travel through stunning Somerset countryside and coast. There will be time in Minehead for lunch before we board the train once more to make the return journey.

Monday After breakfast we leave Paignton and begin our journey home via the rolling hills of Dartmoor. There will be a lunch stop enroute and we arrive home later in the afternoon.
