Itinerary
Sunday We depart Cornwall in the morning and make the short journey to Weymouth enjoying a lunch break en-route. We arrive at our hotel during the afternoon.
Monday Today is free to enjoy Weymouth and our surroundings. This delightful and vibrant town has a unique history and charm with an eclectic mix of popular tourist attractions and traditional coastal town.
Tuesday Our day begins with a visit to Poole, an attractive town which is home to one of the largest natural harbours in the world. There will be time to explore the old town or stroll around the harbour and have a spot of lunch. In the afternoon we visit the excellent Abbotsbury Swannery to see the world’s only managed colony of nesting swans.
Wednesday This morning we enjoy a visit to Sherbourne Castle, built by Sir Walter Raleigh. This impressive structure now houses an impressive collection of art and furniture and has acres of Capability Brown’s landscape to admire. In the afternoon we have a visit to Dorchester, the once home of Thomas Hardy.
Thursday After a leisurely breakfast we leave the Fairhaven Hotel and make our way to the regency town of Sidmouth where there will be time for lunch before we travel back to Cornwall.
