Scarborough enjoys an unrivalled position as one of Britain’s premier coastal resorts yet also lies tantalisingly close to North Yorkshire’s rugged National Park. On this holiday we enjoy both the wonderful coastline and the rugged natural beauty of Yorkshire.

The three star Esplanade Hotel enjoys a commanding position on Scarborough’s South Cliff.

Hot Drinks Facilities, Lift, Porterage & Wifi.

Monday We travel north to Yorkshire to arrive at our hotel in time to settle in and relax before dinner.

Tuesday This morning we follow the coast road to Whitby, the famous fishing port which was once the home of Captain James Cook and inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Later we travel across the North Yorkshire Moors to visit Goathland, famous as ‘Aidensfield’ in TV’s popular ‘Heartbeat’.

Wednesday Our day is free to discover Scarborough and its many and varied attractions, enjoy the delightful promenade in the Belvedere Gardens, take a short walk to the town centre and shops, or amble down to the busy little harbour.

Thursday We head along the coast to the pretty fishing town of Bridlington. This charming pocket of Yorkshire has an historic old town and a beautiful harbour to explore. In the afternoon we venture back into the North Yorkshire Moors for a visit to the Ryedale Folk Museum. Here we explore the history and heritage of the North York Moors and see the historic buildings and collections.

Friday Regretfully we leave after breakfast and begin our journey home.
