Luxury in the Lake District Itinerary
Sunday Leaving Cornwall in the morning we travel to the beautiful Lake District and arrive in time for dinner.
Monday Our day begins with a visit to one of the most beautiful homes in the North West of England, Dalemain House. Our bespoke visit includes a personal welcome on arrival and a guided tour. We also learn of their award winning marmalade. Later we visit the “old red town” of Penrith, known as such because of its sandstone buildings.
Tuesday We begin our day with a visit to the town of Keswick, which is surrounded by magnificent scenery and sits on the shores of Derwent Water. We then visit the pretty and vibrant town of Cockermouth where there is time for lunch and to explore the birthplace of William Wordsworth. We take a scenic ride back to our hotel under the shadow of the magnificent Skiddaw Mountain.
Wednesday Yet more stunning scenery today as we travel south to Windermere and the pretty town of Bowness. There will be time to take a cruise, explore the town or enjoy the visitor attractions. We also take in Coniston Water which sits in the shade of the ‘Old Man of Coniston’ mountain.
Thursday After breakfast we make our way back to Cornwall arriving home during the evening.
