The traditional seaside town of Weston-super-Mare is steeped in Victorian history and charm and provides an idyllic West Country getaway. We traverse the rugged countryside of Somerset enjoying such delights as Cheddar Gorge and Bishops Palace. We also enjoy a day in the beautiful spa city of Bath.
Itinerary
Somerset Delights and Bath Itinerary
Monday We leave Cornwall in the morning and make our way to Somerset. We have a break in the county town of Taunton before making our way to Smiths Hotel where a warm welcome and a hot drink awaits us.
Tuesday Our tour today takes us through the magnificent Cheddar Gorge and to the small but beautiful city of Wells. Sheltered by the Mendips, the narrow streets and quaint buildings offer a wealth of historic interest and beautiful architecture. Whilst here we visit the lovely Bishop’s Palace where we have time to admire its medieval architecture, moat and RHS partner gardens.
Wednesday Today is free for us to enjoy Weston-super-Mare, from the lovely relaxing pace of the promenade to the good old fashioned fun of the grand pier, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.
Thursday After breakfast we cross the lovely county of Somerset to beautiful Bath. This unique spa city offers a wonderful blend of vibrant contemporary culture and rich history. There will be time to enjoy the historic baths, take a river trip or just stroll the beautiful streets to browse the array of boutiques.
Friday Following breakfast we depart our hotel and travel to Dunster, one of England’s most beautiful and fascinating medieval villages. There will be time for lunch in the seaside town of Minehead before making the journey back to Cornwall.
